Measurement microphones are designed to respond to sound levels uniformly over a wide frequency range and angle of incidence to the microphone diaphragm. Wind rain or snow can significantly affect the microphone characteristics and damage the microphone, preamplifier and associated electronics, so it essential to protect measurement microphone when used outside and to compensate for any changes in the characteristics due to the 'protection' The Bruel & Kjaer UA 1404 Outdoor Microphone Kit has been designed for just this purpose when used with the 2236, 2238, 2250 and 2260 analysers The UA 1404 fits over the standard microphone and uses an incidence corrector to compensate for the now vertically mounted microphone. It also includes a 3 m preamplifier extension cable to suit the meter. If you are not hiring a meter from us, you will need to let us know the B&K model you will be using To protect the meter from the weather and provide extended battery power for the meter add a GA 91E1-00 meter enclosure system. |
