A dual channel analyser to measure both noise or noise and vibration simultaneously, building acoustics, sound insulation, environmental noise pollution measurements etc.
Statistical [Ln] functions of the broad band spectral networks and each 1/3 octave or 1/1 octave frequency band from 0.1 Hz to 20 kHz for all three major time constants. Up to 1400 different parameters may be recorded.When used in the single channel mode the dynamic range may be set to > 120 dB.
Large paper white screen for graphical and numerical displays
Internal hard disk drive [4 Gbytes] with Digital Audio Recorder function for storage of raw acoustic data. The disk is also partitioned for storage of measurement results, setup menus and monitor microphone to record the operators comments.
With seven levels of nested reports and a timer function, the analyser can report literally thousands of different rating parameters, including overall global values and time profiles in both the time and frequency domain. The instrument can run for weeks collecting 1 second third octave spectra without filling its memory *.
Rechargeable batteries, multiple interfaces, PCMCIA, RS-232 and Centronics. Internal multi frequency oscillator for outdoor microphone verification, compatible with the GRAS 41AL Outdoor Microphone Systems.

Sound level meters and particularly microphones are very susceptible to damp, so should not be used outside, unless protected.

When a noise event occurs the resident pushes the Nor 262 start button, the sound is captured with the date and time on the hard disk while the Nor 121 analyser simultaneously records the level v time history and / or statistical analysis. The analyser can also be set to trigger by time or level.
