Frequency analysis based on the Fast Fourier Transform [FFT] algorithm is the tool of choice for measurement and diagnostics of machinery noise and vibration. The frequency 'profile' of a machine is its fingerprint, revealing its sources of noise and vibration and their paths to the measurement position.

The 2250 with the BZ 7230 FFT software has many narrow band features :-

♦  100 up to 6400 lines giving a resolution down to 16 mHz

FFT - Fast Fourier Transform analyser ideal for vibration analysis and acoustic source definition if two or more discrete tones are inside the same 1/3-octave band.
♦  DC - 40 kHz in 10 ranges with engineering units and zoom
♦  FFT with up to 1600 lines resolution
♦  Memory card and RS-232 output to a serial printer, PC etc.,
♦  Frequency, Time Domain, Transfer Function measurements etc.
♦  DC or AC coupled voltage inputs, plus IEPE accelerometer connection - both channels

Plug the DI-2200 into the analogue output of a suitable sound level meter or connect one or more accelerometers into the analyser IEPE inputs - see the Metra KS76 below.
